Jumping castle centres (complete with their offerings of hot dogs, chips, chicken nuggets and lollipops) are popular party venues. These are often the kid party versions of an underground rave. Some of the best parties we've been to have been the most unassuming, so don't make the mistake of discounting a simple text invitation. Or you could, like me, just say yes to all of them and see how you go. You could draw up a sophisticated matrix and prioritise them according to how much your child likes the kid, how much you like their parents, how far you have to travel, how cool the party sounds, and, you know, if you have the energy. Some weekends will contain multiple parties, but it is up to you how many you attend. Family, your own friends' kids, kids from kindy, kids from gymnastics… as your child's social world expands, you'll be dragged along with it. There are a lot of themĪt first, it will be overwhelming. It's awesome and exhausting, everything I remember it to be and more! Here are a few things I've gleaned since I've been back in the game.
